Integrated Community Development Project (ICDP)
The Integrated Community Development Project (ICDP) aims to improve the overall well-being of communities in Doti through a comprehensive approach that addresses various needs. One of the key components of the ICDP is to promote child health and development. The project mobilizes FCHVs to conduct regular height and growth monitoring of children, which helps to identify and address potential nutritional deficiencies and growth concerns.
To ensure that schools are equipped to support the health and development of children, the ICDP conducts training for health facility staff and FCHVs on how to conduct health screening activities in schools. This training helps to ensure that schools have the necessary knowledge and skills to identify and address health issues among students.
In addition to health-related activities, the ICDP also focuses on improving education outcomes. The project provides child-friendly classroom management support to create a conducive learning environment, offers parental education to support children’s learning at home, and conducts storytelling and teacher training to enhance teaching and learning practices.
The ICDP also recognizes the importance of technology in education and provides ICT equipment and education materials support to schools. This helps to equip schools with the necessary resources to support student learning and improve teaching and learning outcomes.
To promote higher education, the ICDP offers support for students who wish to pursue higher studies. This support can include scholarships, counseling, and guidance on the application process.
The ICDP also plays a crucial role in promoting child protection and preventing child marriage. The project supports the creation of child marriage-free zones and conducts workshops with child clubs and sister groups to raise awareness about child rights and protection.
Furthermore, the ICDP provides general health check-ups and equipment support to health facilities in the community. This helps to ensure that the community has access to essential healthcare services.
The ICDP also conducts orientations on ASRH and MHM for school adolescents to promote their sexual and reproductive health. Additionally, the project orients HFOMC and ORC Management committees, capacity-builds teachers, health workers, and students, and provides orientation to WASH committees.
Overall, the ICDP is a comprehensive project that addresses a wide range of community development needs. By focusing on health, education, economic development, and community empowerment, the ICDP aims to improve the quality of life for all residents of Doti.
